AD – Products in this post were gifted, however, all opinions are my own
If you’re familiar with the blogger world, you’ve probably heard of Femme Luxe. I certainly had heard of the brand, and after hearing mixed opinions regarding sizing and quality, I decided I wanted to try their clothing for myself to see what I thought. They sell a range of items from loungewear to going-out clothes. I was able to choose four items from the website to review, so I decided to go with a mix of clothing items to have a good look at what the brand has to offer. Excuse the inside photos – it is so difficult to get photos in winter when it is constantly raining outside!
The first item I picked was the Black Ribbed Belted Loungewear Set – Asia in S/M which looked so comfy. I’d heard great things about Femme Luxe loungewear, and as I don’t own much loungewear, I thought it would be a great set to choose. It feels like a silky material when on and is so cosy, I love wearing this around the house and to pop to the shops – it’s so easy to shove on when you just want to be in your pyjamas! It was a bit see-through, as you can see in the photo, but as I’d mostly wear this around the house I wasn’t too bothered! I’d definitely try out more of Femme Luxe’s loungewear as for me, this was an amazing fit and true to size, as well as being great quality.
The next item for daywear I picked was the Black Chain Print Belted Satin Shirt Mini Dress – Rio in S/M. This was something a bit different for me, but I thought this would be perfect for a day to night outfit. In my head, I thought it would be the perfect outfit for heading to bottomless brunch and carrying on to cocktails in the afternoon, with a pair of strappy heels. This seemed like great quality initially but on wearing it, I noticed one of the arms was actually longer than the other! Apart from that, it was a good piece to wear and was a good fit (except my arm, obviously). I really like shirt dresses and how versatile they are.
I then chose Red Belted Bodycon Midi Dress – Angelica in Size 10 as part of eveningwear as I thought this looked glamorous on the website. I am always drawn to red clothing, I own so many red dresses I really didn’t need another one. Once it was on it fit perfectly, but I wouldn’t say that about getting it on – it was a struggle. This was a comfortable dress to wear. However, it definitely looked better and different on the model than on me, but I still liked it on nonetheless! I think this dress would work well with a pair of perspex heels but unfortunately, I don’t currently own any.
The last item I chose was the Black Mesh Puff Sleeve Top – Louisa in S/M. I barely have any ‘going out tops’ so when I saw this and liked it, I knew this had to be one of the items I went for. I really liked the fit of this when on although, like the red dress, it was a struggle to get over my head! I’d prefer to style this with something more high waisted next time, as it’s cropped I’d like to not have so much of my middle on show (especially as the jeans I styled this with were not flattering at all – NOT Femme Luxe).
Overall I was impressed with the quality of the material of the clothing and the designs and fit of the pieces from Femme Luxe. However, the quality of the seam finishing wasn’t so great on some of the pieces and that let them down a bit. If I fell in love with another piece from Femme Luxe I’d definitely make an order, but it wouldn’t be the first place I’d think of to shop for clothes, especially if I wanted something for a special occasion.
Have you ever tried Femme Luxe? What do you think of the pieces?
