If you’ve been reading my posts over the last few months, you’ll have noticed the ILoveGin subscription box I’ve been receiving since November. I’m enjoying trying new gin flavours every month, and new tonics which I wouldn’t usually do! In last month’s ‘Winter Wonderland‘ box I found another favourite gin, the Aber Falls Marmalade gin, so I couldn’t wait for the ILoveGin January box to arrive. The January box was for ‘Dry GINuary’ – which I didn’t partake in, so I could enjoy this box as soon as it arrived.

ILoveGin DryGINuary Box - Gordon's G&T bottles on a white background, two gin glasses and two bottles of gin

January’s box was a bit different as it contained two gins and two G&T drinks rather than two bottles of tonic. This box contained Pin Strawberry Gin and Brecon Gin. The Pin Strawberry Gin is a variant of the original Pin Gin, a dry gin, with notes of black pepper, rose, lavender, liquorice, almond and citrus. The booklet contained within the box suggested serving this gin with premium tonic water and a fresh strawberry, which I did – it is the perfect pairing!

The Brecon Gin is another Welsh gin (if you hadn’t guessed) and is a juniper gin, bottled using water from the Brecon Beacons National Park. The gin contains notes of coriander, cinnamon, nutmeg, orange, lemon, liquorice and angelica. The botanicals in this gin are sourced from the four corners of the world! The serving suggestion for this gin was premium tonic water and a wedge of lemon, which brings out the lemon notes within the gin.

Now onto my favourite part of this months box – the Gordon’s Ultra-Low Alcohol G&Ts! Gordon’s is probably the gin brand heard about the most, and there’s a good reason why – their gin is delicious! These G&T drinks are 68 calories per serve and contain less than 0.5% ABV, which is great if you want to lower your alcohol consumption or if you fancy a refreshing drink without the fear of getting gin drunk!

There are two flavours of these G&T drinks which are ‘with a hint of Lime’ and ‘with a hint of Grapefruit’. Both flavours are absolutely delicious – my favourite is the ‘with a hint of Lime’, which is suggested to be served with a wedge of fresh lime. These drinks retail at £5 for 4 bottles, which I think is a great price.

The ILoveGin subscription box is £14 a month, which is an amazing price to try new G&Ts. You can sign up here.
