In mid-October, I went along to The Night Owl in Digbeth, Birmingham to attend this year’s Prezzybox Jingle Mingle event. I love Christmas and would celebrate it all year round if I could, so going to a Christmas event in October was right up my street. The Night Owl was a gorgeous venue which was decorated beautifully. If I could’ve included all of my photos from the night of the venue in this post, I would! I knew I was in the right place when I heard She & Him’s Christmas songs playing, they are my favourite, so that was a perfect soundtrack for the night.
On arrival, we got a voucher for a free drink which is always amazing – after getting this from the bar I started to explore the venue. A lot of the Christmas gifts you can find on the Prezzybox website were displayed around the venue, on tables and on the bar. One of my favourite products was obviously the giant chocolate chip cookies, they were delicious and I’d definitely buy one as a gift for someone. A few of my other favourites were the Christmas mugs, some of which had quotes from Friends on, and the LED Cocktails sign.
After exploring the venue and products for a little while, Zak Edwards, the Prezzybox founder provided us with a talk about how Prezzybox started out and how it has grown over the years. It was lovely to hear about how they started out as a family business and have expanded their team. Another great thing about Prezzybox is that they’re a Birmingham based brand – something I had no clue about before attending the Jingle Mingle!
After the talk me, Chloe, Chloe & Nati utilised the camera in the venue by shooting some Boomerangs, using props from the box next to it. We also had a bit of the buffet food which was delicious – especially the macarons and free-from jam tarts!
There were a few workshops running at the event, the first I took part in was making my own bath melt. This felt like a particularly messy one, but I love things like this so I got straight in and got my hands dirty. Luckily I’ve got a fair bit of experience piping icing onto cupcakes, so piping the melt mix (?) into the cup seemed quite easy. I made mine all sparkly with biodegradable glitter.
There was also a flatlay workshop, which I was amazed by. It has made me lust after a Backdrops by Lucy backdrop and an incredible camera set up. I couldn’t get over how incredible the photos looked and how Christmassy they were, I definitely want to get a few Christmassy props ready for my December posts!
Simone from Eltoria also did a talk which was extremely informative and also very inspirational. I have been watching her on YouTube for years, she was so lovely to speak to and helped me by answering a few questions I had all about blogging and lacking motivation, and how to get out of writer’s block.
I had such a great time at the Prezzybox Jingle Mingle event, I loved getting festive before November and when I left, I felt so inspired to create content. I’m so glad Prezzybox decided to hold the Jingle Mingle in Birmingham rather than London – we do have many hidden gem venues here that are perfect for blog events!
