Tanning Routine

When it gets warmer outside, I like to match the weather and become more tanned. This is mainly because even though I enjoy being my pale self, I also enjoy being tanned when I can’t hide my legs away in tights anymore! There are a few things I like to do to get myself ready for tanning and specific products that I find help me achieve the best result for me.

The day before I tan, I’ll have a shower and shave and exfoliate while I’m in there, then moisturise afterwards with Soap & Glory The Righteous Butter. If my nails aren’t painted, I’ll paint them with a clear base coat so the tan doesn’t stain them. On the day I tan, I’ll have a shower and exfoliate, then when I get out apply my body butter to my elbows, ankles, hands and knees. I wait until I think my pores have closed up and then I’ll get down to tanning! The tans I’m loving using at the moment are the Bondi Sands Light/Medium Foam and Dark Lotion. It depends what look I’m going for really to which one I’ll use. I use the Velvotan Self Tan Mitt to apply the tan and also the Real Techniques Stippling Brush to blend it in, after one of my friends recommended it to me! I then sleep in my tan and wash it off when I wake up leaving me with a nice bronzed glow.

My tan usually lasts around 7 days and I think that’s down to the fact that I use the Bondi Sands Everyday Gradual Tanning Milk, which keeps it topped up and prevents it fading.
