NanoKeratin BeFri Brush

Never has there ever been so much science behind a brush I've used. The NanoKeratin BeFri Brush* features 8 Kinematic free moving arms, with 142 Flexi-Bristles. They're anti-static so they don't make my hair stand on end, like most other brushes I've owned in the past. The brush has a unique conditioning effect, which is so noticeable. Since brushing my hair with this brush it has been silky soft and I've been stroking my hair non-stop.

My favourite thing about this brush is that it is vented, which allows warm air to circulate when blow drying. It has sped up my drying time so much! I dry my hair upside down which usually results in a frizzy mess when it's dry and I've brushed it. With this brush my hair looks almost like it has been straightened, which I absolutely love as I am using less heat on my hair. The only thing I will say is that it can handle tangled hair but maybe not severe knots - a couple of bristles actually snapped off when I was trying to get a knot out of my hair. I'm hoping I was being a little bit too boisterous with it and it was my fault they snapped off! Other than that I think it is the most wonderful brush and I am loving the condition of my hair since using it.

Urban Decay Naked Smoky Eyeshadow Palette

I was completely over the moon when I got an email from Debenhams Beauty telling me I had been picked as one of their VIP Panellists for the new Urban Decay Naked Smoky Palette*. I've had this palette since the 7th July, so I've been giving it a really good testing out and I've even got my new everyday eye make-up look down. The packaging of this palette has impressed me greatly. The floating smoky effect is absolutely stunning and I love the colour of it! I also like how the packaging is plastic but unlike the sometimes tough to open Naked 3, it is magnetic which means I'm not panicking about the brush flying out and whether it is going to break.

Like the Naked 1, 2 and 3 palettes the Smoky palette has 12 shades. There's High, Dirtysweet, Radar, Armor, Slanted, Dagger, Black Market, Smolder, Password, Whiskey, Combust and Thirteen. High is described as 'champagne shimmer micro-glitter', it's one of my favourite shades for the inner corners and middle lid as it is super brightening and pigmented. Dirtysweet is described as 'medium bronze' and I would say it is exactly that. I've been loving putting this shade in the middle of my lid to brighten and bronze it up to create an everyday smoky eye. Radar is described as 'metallic taupe iridescent micro-glitter', this is one of my favourite colours and I love popping it all over my lid. Armor is described as 'metallic silver-taupe tonal sparkle', I haven't used this as an all over lid shade yet but I think it would look amazing like that. Slanted is described as 'light metallic grey', I think this is a wonderful shade for popping in the middle of the lid to brighten the eye. Dagger is described as 'medium charcoal micro-shimmer', it looks quite blue in the pan but once on the skin it looks so pretty and suits dark eyes. Black Market is described as 'jet-black satin' which is great to use as an eyeliner, especially for me as I'm so bad with liquid liner. Smolder is described as 'deep plum-taupe', which I will love for a night time smoky eye as it looks so dramatic. Password is described as 'cool taupe matte' and therefore is great for using all over the lid. Whiskey is described as 'rich brown matte', I love putting this shade in my crease and outer V as it makes a good shade for an everyday smoky eye. Combust is described as 'soft pink-taupe', which is great for using as a base shade. Thirteen is described as 'light beige satin', I'd say it's a VERY light beige as it looks off-white. This shade is great for under eyebrows and in the inner corners.

All of the shadows feel so 'buttery' and smooth when you apply them and you don't even notice you're wearing the shimmers as they feel the same as the other shades. They all blend so easily, so you could easily use every single colour in the palette and still be able to achieve a perfectly blended smoky eye! I've been using the shadows on top of the Urban Decay Primer Potion in Greed and they have lasted for at least 8 hours without fading, possibly longer, even on my oily eyelids.

My favourite everyday combination with the palette is Radar all over the lid, then I pop Whiskey in the crease and the outer corner, before finishing off with High or Dirtysweet in the middle of the lid and the inner corners. I also like to highlight under my brow with Thirteen.

Catalyst Autumn/Winter Preview 2015

I was invited to Catalyst's Autumn/Winter preview, so last Friday I headed down to London. I love seeing new products from brands that haven't hit the shelves yet, I find it really exciting. I brought my Mom with me so we could have a girly day in London and also so she could experience a blogger event. The event was held in 11 Cavendish Square, which is a beautiful venue. I didn't take many photos unfortunately, but I've included the ones I did take!

The brands at the event included Dr PawPaw, NanoKeratin, Sleek Hair, Revlon Professional, Australian Bodycare, Beauty Crowd, Nail Harmony UK, Micro Cell and Steam Cream. It was great being able to talk to the brands themselves to find out what they thought about blogging and what their brand was all about.

The brand representatives and the Catalyst PR team were all so lovely! It was a great event, it was so relaxed and it was nice to just be able to have a casual chat with people. Me and my Mom also felt really pampered. I had my nails done by Jazz from Nail Harmony, who was amazing and I've been getting so many compliments on my nails since she did them! Whilst I was getting my nails done, my Mom was asked whether she'd like her hair done with the Revlon Professional products by the stylists at Indy Hair, who did a gorgeous old Hollywood hair style on her. We both had a really good time at the event and I'm so grateful for being given products to try out by the brands. Huge thanks to Catalyst PR for inviting me. Expect to see the products popping up in posts for the rest of the year!

#Sunnyhull at Mell Square Solihull

Just over a week ago, I headed to Solihull for #Sunnyhull at Mell Square. I don't know my way around Solihull whatsoever as I'd never been there before so I headed to LUSH knowing the bloggers would be there soon after meeting. In LUSH, we were given a shop tour by Becky before making Sunnyside bubble bars with Kyle. They're the most summery of LUSH's bubble bars, being gold and all and making your bathwater look like liquid gold. It was fun to mould them into any shape we wished, mine didn't turn out so well as a heart but I tried!
We went on to Space NK where each of us had a makeover. NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation was used on me, along with a few gorgeous Laura Mercier products, a lovely red Lipstick Queen lipstick and a beautiful NARS gloss, which is very different as I usually go for a matte lip. The make up looked really lovely! After Space NK, we headed to House of Fraser. We were given an example of a personal shop. Ting wanted to inject more colour into her wardrobe, so the fashion personal shopper tried to find some casual clothes that weren't black or grey! She found a lovely blue top and a maxi dress, and also a lovely flowy top with a nice pair of jeans. The outfits looked amazing on Ting!

We went to Emily Jayne's 'Style Lounge' which was really interesting. Emily went through some different colours and tones and who should wear them. She also went through the latest trends, which included the 70's and the very 40's utility wear, which I actually love! The khaki dresses and shorts look so stylish but so comfortable at the same time! I learnt a lot in the Style Lounge from Emily so this was one of my favourite parts of the day. We then popped into Sipsey, which is a beautiful lingerie boutique in Mell Square. The pyjamas in there were so luxurious and so soft, I am lusting after all of them. The lingerie was also gorgeous, I think I'll have to take another trip in there the next time I go to Solihull.

We finished off the day with a drink from the Red Bus Bar and watched the live music on stage, before heading home. It was a lovely sunny day after the rain in the morning! There are two more #Sunnyhull events at Mell Square. On the 26th July it's Kid's Week and on the 2nd of August it is Home and Garden week, which sounds amazing. It was lovely to meet some bloggers I'd never met before and I am so grateful for being invited along!

Treaclemoon Iced Strawberry Dream Bath and Shower Gel

My all time favourite scent for shower gel is strawberry and it would take an amazing shower gel for me to want to replace my strawberry shower gel from The Body Shop, which I've been using religiously for almost 3 years. Treaclemoon are a brand I've seen a lot of over the years but I've never actually tried any of their products. Something I have learnt about them is that they don't test on animals, which is always amazing to find out about a brand.

I like how you can see the product through the packaging and how the fragrance is described on the front of the bottle. I like my shower gel to be long lasting so I don't have to remember to go out and buy a new one all the time, this bottle is great because 500ml won't run out too quickly - especially because a little goes a long way.

The smell under the hot water is divine, it smells exactly like the 'Strawberry Dream' chocolates you get in Cadbury's Roses, which are my favourite! It feels so creamy and lathers well, so it is great for shaving your legs and underarms! The smell stays on your skin for quite a few hours after you've come out the shower, which is something I love.

500 Follower Giveaway! (CLOSED)

I recently hit 500 followers, finally! To say thank you I wanted to do a giveaway and I've been picking up bits here and there, a lot of them are some of my favourite things. This giveaway is going to be rather beauty related as I have another giveaway coming up for my 2 year blog anniversary and didn't want to put everything in this one!

The first thing I am giving away is a Benefit Porefessional Mini. An essential in my eyes and if you haven't tried it, this will be the perfect opportunity to. I am also giving away one of the highly raved about Bourjois Volume 1 Seconde Mascara's in the pretty retro summer packaging. To keep you smelling fresh and summery I'm giving away one of the amazing Library of Fragrance scents - Bulgarian Rose. This smells so gorgeous and floral, it's one of my go-to scents for summer. I thought I'd also include a mini of one of my favourite Soap & Glory products, Scrub of your Life, so your skin is looking smooth for summer!

The last thing I'm giving away, I'm super excited about and really wish I could keep it for myself! It is a gorgeous Victoria's Secret make-up bag. I was sensible when choosing one for the winner, as I chose one you can wipe clean on the outside - always handy in case of those make up spillages. It also has tons of space for quite a large amount of make-up!

You can enter by using the Rafflecopter widget below. It is compulsory to follow me on Bloglovin and Twitter. All other entries are optional. Open to UK residents only.

MAKE UP FOR EVER Makeover

On Wednesday 8th July, me and Chloe headed to the newly opened MAKE UP FOR EVER counter in Debenhams Birmingham for our makeovers which were kindly booked for us. I'd heard amazing things about the brand and their make up so I was so excited to try them out. The counter is actually in a little section of its own, which I think is perfect as you can really get the feel for this professional brand. The artists in there are so lovely and it's nice to feel welcome when you go to a make up counter, as it's not always the way. Each product is made for use in the professional industry, so you're guaranteed amazing quality!

The lovely Neve led me over to the chair where we started discussing what sort of make up look I like to wear. I explained that I love a red lip and some winged liner - but that I cannot do liner to save my life. Firstly the hydrating and matte primers were applied onto my face. The hydrating one around my nose piercing because it is super dry at the moment. Then she went onto my eyes, where she applied the famous MUFE Aqua Cream and shadows in ME514 and D712 to create a gorgeous neutral eye. Loose glitter pigment was also applied over the top for a bit of shimmer. Neve applied Aqua Brow to my eyebrows, making them look sharp but natural, exactly how I like them. She highlighted them with a bit of concealer, which made them look so defined it was incredible!

With my face, the HD concealer and foundation were applied and oh my god they photograph so well! The brush Neve used to apply my foundation also was amazing, it literally buffed for you so you barely had to do any of the work. After the foundation and concealer, contour was applied with the sculpting kit. It was such a lovely colour on my pale skin! Then Neve applied a gorgeous cream blush, which I'm not usually a huge fan of but this one was gorgeous. The Ink Liner was used for my eye liner and literally I wish I could pay Neve to do my eyeliner every single day. She perfected it, I could never ever do liner that well. I was sad to have to take it off when I went to bed that night! The look was finished off with the Aqua Lip Pencil and Rouge Intense Lipstick. The shade of lipstick used was stunning and I could not stop looking at my make up for the whole night.

I was sent the majority of the products from my makeover to try at home. So far from my makeover I think they're all amazing. I'll be doing more thorough reviews of the products over the coming months, so watch out for those. I'm so grateful for being sent these and for the fabulous makeover! Thanks again to the gorgeous Neve!

Casual Outfit Wishlist

J Brand Jeans | Shirt | Bag | Loafers | Necklace

I haven't done one of these for ages, but as there are so many clothes out at the moment that I absolutely love, I thought it was time I made a good old wishlist outfit post. I don't dress casually very often and oddly I feel least comfortable in a casual outfit, smart casual and smart dress are more within my comfort zone. Recently I have been seeing more casual clothes that I like so I thought I'd pop them all together to show you what I'm lusting after.

The main item I am absolutely falling head over heels for is the J Brand skinny jeans in Thunderhead from Trilogy Stores. I am longing for a gorgeous pair of jeans that actually fit. I've heard great things about J Brand jeans and they're supposed to fit really well. I think they'd go great with the Chambray shirt from Topshop, which I think is a more casual shirt due to the fabric it's made out of. I think this would be a great outfit for a day out shopping, especially with the big bag to fit all of the things you've bought in! I think the shoes are really nice and would make the outfit look casual but stylish. I love the thick sole on them. The last thing to pull the whole outfit together is this gorgeous New Look necklace. I love statement necklaces with plain shirts.

What's your favourite item from my outfit wishlist?

Rosa Faia Swimwear

As it's getting hotter here in the UK I thought it would be a perfect time for this post. I normally opt for a bikini on holiday, but as I am not actually going on holiday this year, a tankini is definitely better for my local swimming pool or a pool in the back garden. I definitely do not have the confidence this year to show my stomach off, so a tankini is definitely my go-to swimwear this summer.

This Rosa Faia tankini is a lovely dark blue with a lovely fan-dot pattern. You can either wear it with the straps or strapless which makes for a great option when trying to catch a tan without getting tan lines. It is very flattering on the figure and true to size. However I would prefer it if the top was padded in the bra area as I didn't feel too comfortable with just the underwire in, that's just personal preference! It also doesn't cling too tightly to the stomach, which I love. This particular pattern is now unavailable but similar products can be found at Jolie Lingerie

La Roche-Posay Anthelios XL Dry Touch Gel-Cream

UVB and UVA ray exposure can be very dangerous and harmful to the skin. UVB rays are the main rays responsible for damage and tanning.  UVA rays are primarily responsible for reduced immune defences, which can cause formation of skin cancers. They are also responsible for hyperpigmentation, fine lines, wrinkles and irregular skintone. The reason this product is one of the most effective for sun protection is because it protects against UVB and UVA rays.

I'm one of those people that has a severe hate for sun cream, due to the thick greasy texture. Because of this, I don't like putting it on my oily skin at all and my face ends up burnt. I realise I have been in need of an SPF for a long time and thanks to La Roche-Posay, I have one in the form of the Anthelios XL Dry-Touch Gel-Cream*! I am a huge fan of La Roche-Posay so I knew I'd be in love with this before I even put it on my face!

It comes out of the tube quite quickly and I use a little above a pea size amount for my whole face. It applies really well and sinks in so easily as I rub it in, which I think is a big difference from other products that contain SPF. It has that slight suncream smell but it's not strong at all, you can't smell it at all when it's on your face. The gel cream feels so light and it actually mattifies my skin when I put it on, which is fantastic as I don't want to be walking around with a shiny face! It has 50+ SPF so this is amazing for your face not getting burnt, this has become a daily product of mine.

Gemporia Jewellery for Summer

I absolutely love stunning, classy jewellery pieces. My favourite type of jewellery to wear in summer is sterling silver, because it goes with absolutely everything. I was sent this gorgeous necklace from Gemporia to style. As statement necklaces aren't really my style, small pendants are perfect for me. This necklace is my ideal summer necklace, silver with a small pendant. I love the stunning diamond shape across the Aqua Chalcedony and White Topaz stone. The stone looks beautiful in all different lights, when the light shines through it, it looks even more stunning. The white topaz gemstone in the centre is a perfect little detail.

I like to keep things quite simple when it comes to styling jewellery, so you can see each individual piece in it's full glory. I decided to style this with my Links of London bracelet and Pandora heart ring, two silver pieces that go with the necklace perfectly. I think the Gemporia necklace goes best with low neck tops and v-necks because it shows just how beautiful the necklace is. It'll go with any colour of clothing really as in all different lights, the stone in the necklace shows up all different colours.

Magnitone Lucid

After joining in with the Bloggers Love Twitter party at the beginning of June, it was so exciting getting an email to say I'd be receiving one! I picked the 'sunshine yellow' colour, I thought it'd be something a bit different and it would brighten up my bathroom. I was impressed with the Magnitone Lucid as soon as I opened the box. First impressions do count after all! Brace yourself for a very thorough review.

Before my Magnitone Lucid arrived, I was thinking how it couldn't possibly be waterproof because is electronic?! As soon as I opened the box I thought how clever it was that it comes with a magnetic charger that you just attach onto the front and away you go. They've literally thought of everything you may need in the box as there is an EU plug adapter - meaning you don't have to go out and buy one when you want to take your Magnitone abroad.

I am a skincare obsessive due to having problems with my skin in my earlier teenage years and I'm always looking for new ways to remove blackheads, papules and pustules from my face. Sorry to be gross but we all get spots at some point! I'd heard great things about this cleansing brush removing blackheads that won't budge. I have blackheads on my nose, cheeks, forehead and around my lips so I hope this is true!

I recently had my nose pierced so I actually have a patch of skin to test against the rest of the skin I'm using the Magnitone on. I can definitely tell the difference, my skin around my nose piercing feels really grotty and rough which is disgusting!

Day 1: Skin is looking okay at the moment! Pores and blackheads still very visible but no spots as of yet. My skin feels so soft after cleansing this morning! I will never want to cleanse with my hands again.
Day 2: My toner, moisturiser and SPF have all sunk in perfectly this morning - what is this madness! My skin is also looking quite a bit brighter.
Day 3: I've woken up with three spots, oh no! All part of the process of clear skin - bringing all the nasties to the surface! My skin is so so so soft I would keep stroking it but that would clearly bring on more spots.
Day 4: Some spots from yesterday have gone but others have appeared! I can't get over how soft my skin is, if my make-up brushes were dry I'd be applying make-up to see how well it applies - hopefully tomorrow!
Day 5: Got rid of a huge spot on my forehead by cleansing with the Magnitone! The combination of this brush and my La Roche-Posay cleanser is heavenly.
Day 6: It's really hot here at the moment, so I woke up with the greasiest face ever, eugh! I soon got to work on it with my Magnitone and had the smoothest, matte skin. My spots that appeared have now gone and my blackheads look like they're disappearing slowly.
Day 7: This brush is a saviour. My skin is clear of spots and my blackheads are starting to clear. My skin is extremely soft and looks so much less dull!

Magnitone promise you have softer, brighter and clearer skin in 7 days and I can definitely say the brush lives up to that promise! My skin feels softer than it ever has before, literally baby soft. I can't stop stroking it because it's so soft. My skin does look brighter, it's usually so dull and looks almost grey due to the amount of blackheads I had on my face. I also can definitely see my skin clearing. I used to have a face covered in blackheads and some of them have definitely cleared out of my pores.

If you'd like to treat yourself to one of these wonderful cleansing brushes, you can buy one here and you can use my code BLOVE20 for 20% off until July 31st 2015!
