Veet Natural Inspirations Wax Strips

After studying Beauty Therapy at college it was really interesting to go back to a classic box of at-home wax strips. I'm used to using warm wax applied onto the body with a spatula and ripping off with a paper strip. I haven't used at home waxing equipment for at least two years, so I'd almost forgotten what it was like waxing with at-home strips! It's fair to say I'd been growing my leg hair out for a while (not on purpose) so it was due a good waxing session. This is where the Veet Natural Inspirations Wax Strips* came in handy!

There are 20 strips in the box which they say is enough for a full two half-leg waxes. I would agree with this now! When you're a first time waxer you tend to use a strip and throw it away, I did anyway. Now I know how to be cost effective with them and that you can use one more than once! The wax strips in this pack are from 90% natural origin, which is great knowing you're not putting loads of horrid things onto your skin. My skin is really sensitive too so I think it benefitted from the wax strips having aloe vera in them. Aloe Vera is so soothing! They remove hair well when you use the right technique of pulling the skin taut and ripping the strip against the hair, but not pulling away from the skin. I find it so tricky to pull the strip off fast even though I know it won't hurt me!

These at-home wax strips are much less messy than using warm wax and so much less sticky on your skin after you've pulled them off. The finishing wipes get rid of all the stickiness that is left and are nice and soothing on the area you've waxed. The strips removed my hair really well and as my leg hair doesn't grow really quickly anyway I shouldn't need to wax them again for over a month! I definitely need to get some of these for my moustache...they work wonders.

Getting back into exercise

I don't know about most other nineteen year olds out there, but I can count on two hands the amount of proper exercise I've done since I stopped doing P.E. at the age of fifteen. Other than a brief stint with Pilates (which I absolutely adored) and a Sunday morning Bums & Tums class, I haven't really done much exercise and I'm now slowly trying to ease myself back into it. I'm the most unfit person I know so I'm starting off slowly and hoping to build up as the months go on.

I kicked off getting back into exercise with the 30 day squat challenge. It was really good, I felt like I was doing some proper exercise and toning my body. After I finished the challenge, I stopped doing exercise again for a while. Then I discovered the Blogilates 30 day challenges. I did the Flat Abs Challenge, Butt Lift Challenge and Thigh Slimming Challenge together. I'd be lying if I said it wasn't tough, it really was, but I've found it has been great for easing me back into exercise. I completed the 30 day challenges and I am starting Charlotte Crosby's 3 Minute Belly Blitz in the hope of getting back into shape after nearly four years of no strenuous exercise whatsoever! Hopefully soon I'll have my own workout routine.

Perfect Summer Drinks from Galvanina

These summery Galvanina drinks are made in Italy. What I love about these drinks is that they're completely organic and nothing artificial is added. Most fruit drinks that are fizzy taste really processed and stick in your throat whereas Galvanina drinks taste like a freshly squeezed fruit juice that has been fizzed up a little. There are four flavours sold in the UK, all of which I've tried. On their website it tells you what to pair each flavour with in the way of food or what to put in the drink. The different flavours are Red Grapefruit, Sicilian Clementine, Sicilian Lemon and Sicilian Ruby Orange. My favourite has to be the Sicilian Clementine, I love orange flavoured drinks!

The drinks are so versatile, you can use them to make a variety of cocktails and mocktails. My favourite is the Silician Lemonade, the delicious combination of Galvanina Sicilian lemon and fresh strawberries blended. The bottles are so gorgeous that I'd never want to throw them away, so I'm glad you can reuse them to serve cocktails and mocktails in. I can imagine in the summer using the bottles to serve the Sicilian Lemonade in a lovely big pitcher!

Microsoft Lumia 930 Review

After my review of the Lumia 735 I was asked if I'd like to try out a more upmarket Microsoft phone, that is more on par with iPhone. It's certainly hard to beat the iPhone but I thought I'd put it to the test. All opinions are my own and this review is 100% honest.

If you've read my review on the Lumia 735, you will know I was not a fan of it being orange! The Lumia 930 I was sent was a lime green which was a lot more to my liking. It does also come in orange, black and white. This screen is the even bigger than the 735 at 5" and you can definitely tell that this phone is more 'high-end'. It's a massive bonus that the 930 has a Full HD display resolution and when watching YouTube videos and Netflix I could definitely see this! The home screen is fully customisable which I love. You can move, add and remove all of your apps, photos, contacts to where you want and resize them. I changed the colour of mine to purple because it's my favourite! I love being able to add my most frequent contacts to the homepage, it makes everything so much quicker and easier.

I couldn't find all of my everyday apps on the Windows store, but the majority of them were there. The only one I really missed was Snapchat. It was especially great scrolling through Instagram on a huge phone screen, which I'm not really used to. I don't really play phone games at the moment so I only downloaded the usual Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Netflix and YouTube. This phone was amazing to use for all of those apps due to the large phone screen. The camera on this phone is really something else! I definitely noticed the difference between the camera on the 930 and the camera on the 735. The camera is 20MP which is amazing for a phone and it definitely shows. It has dual LED flash which lights up a photo wonderfully in low light and I did notice a big difference between this and my iPhone camera! I love all the filters and editing options you have pretty much as soon as you take a photo,

After using the Microsoft Lumia 735, I found this a lot easier to use. This is definitely a huge competitor to the iPhone and if I could have a mixture between the two it'd be heavenly! The iPhone's layout, touch ID, apps and the Lumia 930's camera and customisation.

Bondi Sands | Light/Medium Self Tanning Foam

When my friend Alice told me that Bondi Sands was now being sold in Superdrug, I immediately wanted it. I spent a few weeks until payday looking at their instagram to convince myself it would be a great decision if I bought it! Especially since it's now coming up to summer and I would like to bare my legs without feeling self-concious. When I have tan on I feel my cellulite shows up less which is great and I feel so much more confident. For just under £15 you can't really go wrong!

It was such a dream to apply, I just squirted a few pumps of the mousse onto my mitt and started using circular movements, it blended in really easily. I did get some streaks here and there but I think that was from rubbing too hard, I easily got rid of any streaks. I went to bed in the tan and woke up with extremely stained bed sheets and pyjamas, which was a small price to pay for a wonderful tan. It smelt like cocoa butter and ever so slightly of coconut. Even when I washed the guide colour off I was left with a gorgeous bronzed glow.

The main thing for me really is that the tan looks natural still even though it's out of a bottle. This is the most natural looking tan I've used so far, I usually have the classic 'you've been tangoed' comments but with this one no one said anything except that it looked really nice. It's a lovely light brown colour and at no point does it look orange. The first time I wore it, I exfoliated it off after just over a week so I could use my normal foundation. The second time, I left it on and it only started going patchy when it was coming up to a fortnight! Which is the longest a tan has ever stayed on me looking lovely. This is definitely my new favourite self tan.

Everyday Spring Make Up

Recently I've been wearing the same make up look everyday, I simply haven't had the time to change it up. But I'm really liking the fresh spring look at the moment, so I will probably stick with it throughout the whole of spring! I don't know why in the photos my face looks cakey, it didn't in real life.

I always make sure to use primer so that my base stays on, I use MAC Prep & Prime Skin. It leaves my face feeling smooth and I don't know how my make up would work without it! Then I follow with foundation. At the moment, I'm tanned due to Bondi Sands so I'm using my Revlon ColorStay foundation in 180 Sand Beige. It is recognised as a dupe for MAC Studio Fix Fluid because they're both so thick! I love the way it makes my skin look. I recently bought NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Vanilla and I am loving popping it under my eyes, it brightens them so much! It does feel amazingly creamy so it is a dream to blend.

To set my base, I use Maybelline Matte Maker powder. It's not great, I'd probably like another powder but you don't really see many reviews on powder so I'm not sure what to buy. I then do my favourite step in my make up routine and that is bronzing and contouring! I used to be so scared of bronzing up my pale face, but now I've realised you can get it right with a light hand. I have been using the Clarins Aquatic Treasures Bronzer* which is absolutely beautiful and perfect for spring & summer. It just adds a nice bronzed glow to my face and makes me look a bit more alive! I also pop a bit of NYX Blush in Pinched onto my cheeks. I'm not a huge fan of blusher so I just add a tiny bit.

I fill in my brows with the HD Brows Palette in Foxy. I have the old version of the palette, I'm not a massive fan of it because it doesn't have a wax, so it makes my eyebrows look too powdery. It's good enough for the moment though. I then pop some of Benefit's Gimme Brow on top to tame them, my eyebrows are a bit wild at times. I haven't been doing eyeshadow recently as I haven't had time! So I've been popping on a few coats of Benefit's Roller Lash mascara.

Dressed for the Theatre

Dress - H&M | Tights - Pamela Mann | Shoes - J by Jasper Conran | Necklace - Dorothy Perkins

Whilst in London, me and my Mom went to the theatre to see Les Miserables which was amazing. I love dressing up to go to the theatre, so that's exactly what I did! Please excuse the dimly lit hotel room, it's the best I could do while I was away. My outfit was a complete bargain, I think the dress cost around £8 which you can barely buy a t-shirt! The necklace was reduced, the tights I bought years ago at Clothes Show Live and my shoes were bought when I was about 16.

I spotted this dress in H&M's window and fell in love with it! My Mom actually bought it for me as a surprise which was lovely of her. When we decided to go to the theatre I thought it would be a great occasion to wear it. I decided to style it with the gorgeous Pamela Mann tights I bought from Clothes Show Live back in 2012. I love the seams and how they say 'love'! I got quite a few compliments on these while I was out which made me feel better about my choice to wear them. I put the outfit with my classic black J by Jasper Conran court shoes as they are my most comfortable heels and I think they look good with the dress! The necklace was a last minute buy as I didn't have anything to wear with the dress, I picked it up earlier in the day from the Stratford City shopping centre.

Prints Outside the Palace

Shirt - Motel | Jeans - Next | Shoes - Topshop (similar here)

Another London outfit post! The next day I had in London was more of a chilled out one and we went to an exhibition. I thought I'd dress a bit more casually as I don't do casual very often! I love taking my outfit photos in classic 'British' settings and what background is more British than Buckingham Palace? The best thing about taking outfit photos right outside the gates is that I just blended in with all the tourists taking photos.

I am a lover of Motel clothing and a few months ago when they had a sale I picked up this gorgeous shirt. Paisley is one of my favourite prints and red is my favourite colour to wear, so it was just the perfect shirt for me. It looks amazing with jeans and leather skirts, on this occasion I went for the jeans because they seemed more casual. I have a love/hate relationship with these jeans. They're a 12, the 10 was too tight and the 12 was a bit too big. Why do they not make a size 11?! They gape at my waist but fit perfectly on my thighs and when first washed fit perfectly. I decided to pop my Topshop skater shoes on with this outfit to add to the casual look and for comfort.
