November Favourites

I can't believe it's already November and this is my last monthly favourites post before my 2014 favourites! This month has been a very exciting month, I started a new job just before November and I have loved that throughout this month, I'm so happy to be working and at such a nice place as well. My first favourite this month because of that reason is my Paperchase Diary. I've been writing all my shifts and everything I have planned in here to make life easier. I love being organised and this helps me to be organised (alongside my Paperchase weekly planner and stitched journal)! My second favourite this month is Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation. I had a huge breakout at the beginning of the month, which I believe to be to do with doing facials at college. I loved using this to cover them up, especially starting a new job I didn't want everyone I served staring at my spotty face. This has been a life saver! My last favourite is the most exciting and my most favourite. This month I've been listening to S Club 7 non stop. I've loved them ever since I can remember. When I found out they were performing on Children in Need I couldn't stop going on about it and I think I annoyed Ryan and my Mom to death. Then last week their tour was announced and I literally couldn't be any happier. I literally jumped up and down with excitement, I've always wanted to see them live but never got the chance to when I was small. I feel like the happiest girl alive at the moment!

Smiggle Bloggers Event

Last Thursday, me and Chloe attended the Smiggle bloggers event in the Bullring. I wasn't sure what to expect really as I'd only heard of Smiggle a few weeks before. When we stepped inside the store I instantly thought, wow how colourful is this! One of the first things we did was smell the scented pencils, and oh my goodness they smelt beautiful. There was grape, strawberry, cookie and my personal favourite, chocolate! I don't think I'd actually be able to use that one as it smelt absolutely gorgeous and I'd want to eat it.

We were then shown the amazing colour changing pencils. The one I had was green with a yellow rubber, and when the pencil was rubbed it changed to yellow! I was amazed by this as I'd never seen anything like it. I then had a look at the rubbers, which were in all different shapes and sizes. There were some cute cake and doughnut rubbers which came in a little tub, a perfect present. Everything in the shop I was amazed by to be honest. The back of the shop looked amazing, the back wall filled with pens, pencils and highlighters. There were even loads of keyrings in all different sizes and letters, which I know I love!

The people at Smiggle were also very lovely and generous! We were each given a goody bag and an advent calendar to take home. In my goody bag I received a pin art star, a pen, macaron erasers and a pack of 30 gel pens. Thank you very much to Smiggle for having us - I had a lovely time and I look forward to visiting again soon.

MeMeMe Cosmetics

Catwalk Quad Eyeshadow* - Goddess Rocks* - Dew Pots* - Satin Lip Cream* - Flawless Cream Foundation* - Shimmer Stack* - Arch Angel* - Lash Attack Mascara*

When I attended FABB Birmingham last month, little did I know just how many goodies we'd be walking away with. MeMeMe Cosmetics gave me such a generous goody bag, filled with practically a full face worth of make up and I knew I'd have so much fun testing it out. In the goody bag, I received two of their quad baked eye shadows, cream eye shadow, bronzing rocks, lip cream, foundation, shimmer stack, brow gel & highlight and finally their 'Lash Attack' mascara.

First of all, the face products. I think the Flawless Cream Foundation has quite a MAC feel to it, I think it feels very much like a MAC foundation when you apply it, however it doesn't have that funny paint smell to it like a MAC foundation. It actually wears quite well with a primer underneath, I don't usually find that cheaper foundations wear well but this one does. It contains SPF, which is always good to protect your skin from nasties in the air. There are four colours available: Porcelain Pure, Honey Lush, Beige Blush and Golden Glow. I would say the colour range is slightly disappointing but hopefully will be expanded in the future. At £12.50 it retails slightly higher than most drugstore foundations but I think that extra bit is worth it. The Shimmer Stack is my personal favourite. I was given the Gold shade, which I've found is beautiful for pale skin like mine as a gorgeous highlighter for cheekbones and under the eyebrow. This is the best highlighter I've tried so far and it feels so luxurious when you're applying it. The packaging is also amazing as it won't just open alone randomly in your bag, as you have to push in for it to open. I could say this is a dupe for the Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick but as I've never owned that, I can't really say! At £9.25 anyway, it's a much cheaper luxurious alternative. The last face product is Goddess Rocks. These felt so silky smooth I was stroking them for ages - I promise I'm not weird haha! These make such a lovely bronzed look on my face, especially used as contour for a more glowy effect. This retails at £12.

I'm rather impressed with the eye products. The quad eye shadows are well pigmented, and apply smoothly onto the lids. They are £6.50, which I think is quite a lot for the size, but you do get 4 eye shadows for that. I love the 'Dew Pots' which I have in twilight bliss, a gorgeous lilac colour. It's so creamy, I use it as an eye shadow base or alone, it is absolutely beautiful on the eyes. The mascara is a good mascara for the price, and the brush applies evenly which is always a bonus. My lashes look longer with this mascara, I wish it curled them more.

The lip cream feels very expensive. The smell is the classic high-end vanilla smell that both Illamasqua and MAC use. The eyebrow gel and highlight isn't exactly what I was expecting, After using Gimme Brow, the brushes on other eyebrow gels seem huge when you're only covering your eyebrows. It works quite well though, and I love the highlight as it has quite a small doe foot applicator which makes it easy to apply.

I think the whole of the MeMeMe Cosmetics range have a very high-end feel to them, the packaging is lovely and matte. The products inside are also of very high quality, making this brand a go-to brand now for me.

Chanel Vitalumière Aqua

You know the lipsticks that are 'your lips, but better'? This foundation is your skin, but better. This is the most luxurious make up item I have ever owned, and I am so glad I decided to try it. This is a water based foundation, and I wear the lightest beige shade, B10. I wouldn't say it's for the palest of people out there, I'm a Rimmel Ivory and Illamasqua SB4 to compare. I love wearing this on good skin days, it's very sheer but it has a lovely finish. When I have no spots, it applies like a dream and is the perfect foundation for the 'no make up' make up look.

This foundation has a shockingly easy application. Normally I'm sat there buffing in my foundation for ages, but with this it takes me less time than doing my eye shadow. It is an absolute dream to apply as it doesn't go streaky with a regular foundation brush. It has a quite strong fragrance, but I like how it smells as it just adds to the luxurious feel of the product. It feels so light and airy on the skin, it is so breathable! I never thought a foundation could feel that breathable, but I literally forget I've got it on a lot of the time.

The packaging is lovely, simple and elegant which represents the Chanel name perfectly. I like the squeezy bottle, I don't think it would feel very 'Chanel' with a pump. It looks perfect on my dressing table, feels perfect on my face and I'm so glad I own it. You can buy it here for £33, it is well worth it, especially if you like to keep a small make up collection.

Vera Wang Princess

My favourite fragrance of all time. This has been my favourite perfume since 2010, since Ryan first bought me a bottle for Christmas. He's bought me a bottle nearly every year since then, with last years bottle being a huge 100ml! That was so exciting as I'd never owned a perfume so huge before. Normally the 30ml bottles last me about 6 months but this bottle is still going nearly a year later.

One of the main points about this perfume that I loved was the design. I absolutely love the heart shaped bottle and the crown as the lid. You can even wear the ring shaped part of the lid as a ring, I haven't personally done this because I prefer it being on my bottle so I don't lose it and the lid attaches properly. It's such a feminine and girly design, it certainly feels like a perfume fit for a princess.

The fragrance itself is beautiful, I've never smelt anything better. It is a floral fragrance, which I'm not usually fond of. The Perfume Shop website says the heart note is pink guava, the top note is waterlily and the base note is chiffon vanilla. I can definitely smell the vanilla in there and I think that's what originally drew me to this fragrance. Every time I put this perfume on it reminds me of winter and Christmas because that's when I tend to wear it most, even though I'd say it is more of a summery fragrance.

Do you own this perfume? Do you love it?!

Motel Patty Shift Dress | Winter Rose Red

Dress - Motel
Chelsea Boots - Topshop

I spotted this gorgeous dress in the Motel sale, and thought it would be perfect to wear to FABB Birmingham. That's exactly where I wore it. I love the gorgeous winter rose pattern, and my favourite colour to wear is red, so it's absolutely perfect for me. Motel's clothes are always so well made, which makes me look at beautiful clothes for hours on end. With gorgeous clothes and amazing quality, who can resist?! I love the style of this dress, I'd never owned a shift dress before this and I just think it makes a wonderful change from the usual bodycon or skater style I'd go for usually. I thought for winter this would go perfectly with my Topshop chelsea boots, any excuse to wear them as I love them so much! I would've photographed my bag with this - but I didn't actually have one that went with the outfit...oops!

Remembrance Day

Today is such an important day. It makes me feel so sombre to think about all the men who lost their lives for our futures during World War One. This year, I think I've participated in around 4 silences which is different to every other year doing the two on Remembrance Sunday and Remembrance Day itself. I went to the Tower of London to see the poppies about two weeks ago, and honestly it is a lovely tribute to all those fallen soldiers. There is a ceramic poppy for each British casualty of World War One and if you've been and seen how many poppies there are, it really hits you how awful it was for all the soldiers. Two years ago just before Remembrance Day I was in Ypres, Belgium. There I visited some of the war cemeteries and you get hit with the most sombre feeling and it is so overwhelming. I also went to the Menin Gate, where they played the last post and we did a silence, and I can't even describe the rush of emotions it brings to you. I know Remembrance Day now is to remember all fallen soldiers of all war, and combined with World War One I can't even begin to imagine how many there are. I think it's wonderful that we have a day to remember those who lost their lives for us to live today, those who volunteered and were conscripted. Lest We Forget.

October Favourites

Sorry I don't have a Halloween themed post for you today, it's just that I never do anything for Halloween really! You'll just have to cope with my favourites throughout October. The first thing I have been loving in October is my PS4. I've had it for quite a while, but I co-owned it with Ryan, who bought his own at the beginning of September! Now it means we can play PS4 together without even having to be in the same house, which is great! The games I have been loving on the PS4 are Destiny and Singstar. I know that's an odd mix...but I enjoy aspects of both. Another favourite of mine this month has to be the Pantene Pro-V Intensive Colour Damage Rescue Mask. My hair gets extra knotty and dry during the winter season, and popping this on after my conditioner is a dream, it takes two minutes which is barely any time at all. My last favourite this month has to be the Tangle Teezer Aqua Splash. My hair is the knottiest thing possible, and it takes me ages to brush it when I'm out the shower, so I've been using this when my conditioners on and brushing my conditioner through my hair makes it silky smooth and I literally can't stop stroking it!
