August Favourites

As if it is the end of August - only 4 months and 2014 is over! It is absolute madness how fast 2014 has gone and this is my 8th monthly favourites post of the year. I only have four favourites this month as I haven't really discovered any new products but I have found love for ones already hiding in my stash. My first favourite this month is the Time Bomb Powerball Intensive Moisturiser which I have written a post on here. There you can see how much I love it, it's just a beautiful moisturiser and I love how it makes my skin feel. My second favourite this month is Soap & Glory Heel Genius. When you're getting the sandals out you can't have horrible dry feet! I've been popping this on at night under socks and it works so well, you wake up with the softest feet. If you haven't tried it I would definitely recommend trying it out. My third and fourth favourites kind of go hand in hand. I've been loving using my Color Tattoo in Pink Gold as a base, then putting some of the shades from Naked 3 on top and it just creates the most gorgeous rose gold eye look. I've also been using the darkest shade, Blackheart, in the outer corners to create a smoky eye.
What are your favourites at the moment?

One Year Blogiversary!

As some of you may know, last Friday my blog turned one! This is so exciting and I can't believe I've been blogging for a whole year, it seems like yesterday I was thinking about starting a blog. A lot of things have changed in a year with my blog, and a lot of my ideas have too.

Last year when I started my blog, I had a point and shoot camera that wouldn't take a good photo with the flash turned off, not many items in my make up collection and I didn't really speak to any bloggers. This year I have my Canon 600D which I have wanted since it came out. Now my make up collection is overflowing and a lot of things in my make up drawers are barely used, which I need to change. I speak to quite a few bloggers now and have made some great friends!

The difference from last year to this year is that last year my blog was beauty focused, and this year I'd like it to be more fashion focused. Fashion posts/Personal Style posts are what I find flow easier for me and that's the direction for me to go in. Of course I'll still do beauty posts it's just that I want the majority of posts I do to be personal style/fashion posts, as I enjoy writing them more and styling outfits.

Thank you to everyone that has encouraged me this past year as without everyone I probably would have given up! Thank you to everyone that follows me and reads my posts also, it's the most amazing feeling when someone loves what you've done.

Any suggestions for what you'd like to see on my blog?

Clarins Ombre Matte Eyeshadow

02 Nude Rose*

04 Rosewood*

06 Earth*

The silkiest, smoothest eyeshadows I have ever felt and used are in the form of Clarins new launch, their Ombre Matte Cream-to-Powder Eyeshadow. I was kindly sent 3 of these amazing new eye shadows and I'm ever so grateful I got to try them out. These are part of Clarins Autumn 2014 collection, which is full of gorgeous products including these beauties.

There are 6 shades in the Ombre Matte Cream-to-Powders including: Nude Beige, Nude Rose, Taupe, Rosewood, Sparkle Grey and Earth. Every single shade is gorgeous and wearable, in my opinion Rosewood is the most beautiful shade. The packaging is so sleek and you can tell the eyeshadows are made by a high end brand, because they are beautiful and practical!

I think the three shades I was sent, Nude Rose, Rosewood and Earth would make a beautiful eye look blended together, maybe using Earth to make a cut crease. Nude Rose would be the perfect base eyeshadow, and because the eyeshadows are silky smooth they're so easy to blend. These are honestly the smoothest eyeshadows I have ever used, which makes them even more of a pleasure to use.

They last all day with an eyeshadow primer, which is amazing for someone like me who can be out from 7am until 9pm. They would also be perfect for someone wanting to dance the night away, especially at those Christmas parties! Forgive me for mentioning Christmas in August but I am a Christmas addict and I do think these shadows would be perfect to wear for a Christmas party! The other great thing about these eyeshadows is the fact they don't crease on your lids throughout the day like other cream-to-powder shadows. These are looking promising to be in next months favourites!

Have you ever tried any Clarins products? Are you tempted to pick something up from the new collection?

You will be able to pick these up from the Clarins counter and online here for £19 each from the 24th August

Motel Annie Skirt | Mandala Blue

Crop Top - New Look
Skirt - Motel
Wedges - Boohoo
Bracelet - Jac Vanek
Watch - Next
Nail Polish - Fingers (OPI Russian Navy) & Toes (Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine Papaya)

I am so happy to finally own this skirt, I've wanted it after seeing it on Pixie Lott nearly a year ago and falling in love with the mandala print. I went out for my friend's 18th Birthday recently and this is what I wore. I'd got the skirt the previous week and needed an occasion to wear it. It feels like it's very high quality, and it's so comfortable to wear. I styled it with a Bardot style crop top as the Annie skirt rests on the waist - meaning you don't show too much stomach! I chose to put my wedges with this outfit as I thought they went perfectly. I absolutely love them for going out, they add that bit extra to an outfit, especially when you're off on a night out. As always I have on my Jac Vanek bracelet and Next rose gold watch, I'm quite lucky that my everyday accessories go with pretty much any outfit! I chose OPI Russian Navy for my nails as it's that perfect mix of dark blue and purple - definitely fitting with the skirt! I have more items from Motel I'm lusting after, I might have to include them in a wishlist soon as there are too many to list now. If you've never heard of Motel before, they offer some amazing unique pieces you wouldn't be able to find anywhere else.

Have you ever owned anything from Motel?

What's in my Travel Beauty Bag?

Part 1: The Essentials
I call these 'The Essentials' because the're what I tend to use on an everyday basis. I haven't included my toothbrush/toothpaste because they are unwritten essentials, and I thought it'd be a bit boring to include them! First of all the obvious essential would have to be deodorant. I'm taking a compressed Sure one, which is so handy as it will fit into a tiny space! I'm taking Tresemme Shampoo and Conditioner as I find these do the best for my hair. I've also packed Lee Stafford Heat Protectant and Argan Oil for styling after I've washed my hair, then some dry shampoo for when things are looking a bit limp. I always use The Body Shop shower gel so I'm taking the Japanese Cherry Blossom one, as I couldn't find the Strawberry one to buy in store. For my skincare I'm taking the Liz Earle Young Skin Try-Me Kit* as I love Liz Earle Skincare, and while on holiday it's best to use what you know is best for your skin. I also have the cutest little bottle of Bioderma to take my make up off with and it is amazing! I've also packed a random few bits and pieces such as my Soap & Glory The Righteous Butter in case I get dry skin, The Body Shop Rasberry EDT and Soltan Sun Care Lip Balm.

Part 2: The Make Up
When travelling, I find it hard to know what make up bits to take. This time I have stuck to my everyday face with a few extras in case I want to change things up a little. First up, I'm taking two of my foundations. Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua (which I would hope to wear the majority of my holiday) for good skin days and Rimmel Wake Me Up when my skin needs that little bit of an extra boost. For Primer, I'm taking my trusty MAC Prep and Prime Skin, which is amazing and keeps bases on all day. I always tend to use two concealers, so I thought I would pop them both in my make up bag. Soap and Glory Kick Ass for those pesky blemishes and Collection Lasting Perfection for those tired under eye circles! For my eyebrows, I find on a day-to-day basis that Gimme Brow does the trick. I'm taking two mascaras, my favourite Le Volume De Chanel and Revlon Lash Potion*. You never know when ones going to run out, or whether you'll want to go for a different lash look in the day to the evening. For Powder, I'm taking Rimmel Stay Matte, as it's the only powder I own and it kind of does the trick. I'm taking my mini Benefit Hoola bronzer as this is also the only bronzer I own, and it's nice to look a bit bronzed on holiday! For eye shadow, I thought I'd take my Naked Basics Palette as it's a perfect travel size and you can do a whole eye look with the colours in there. For Lips I'm taking three products (minus my lip balm in Part 1) which are MAC Russian Red, Yves Rocher Lipstick in Rose Cocktail* and Barry M Loud Mouth in Show Off*.

Part 3: The Hair
I thought I'd include what hair essentials I would be taking, I haven't included my GHD's or Hair dryer as I think they are also unwritten essentials (like toothbrush and toothpaste). I'm taking my Tangle Teezer, as it's the only thing I ever use to brush my hair so it's pretty essential! I'm also taking some regular black bobbles for when or if I need to tie my hair up. I've included my Invisibobble as I use mine literally everyday, I'm taking a brand new one though as the one I use now is stretched to death and can barely tie my hair up anymore! I'm also taking three brand new scrunchies I picked up in New Look last week as I thought they'd be a cute way to change up my hair while I'm away.

What are you taking on your travels?

Wonderbra B&B Versailles

Ultimate Strapless Versailles* - £35
Versailles Shortie* - £15

Is this not just the most beautiful lingerie you have ever seen? When asked if I wanted to try out a set from Wonderbra's Basso & Brooke collection I practically screamed inside - I had seen the collection and it was so incredibly beautiful. I am so grateful for being sent this lingerie set!

This is Wonderbra's first ever fashion designer collaboration and I'm so glad they did a collaboration with Basso & Brooke. This is the most gorgeous set of underwear I’ve ever owned. Wonderbra is one of my favourite underwear brands due to the fact you can rely on the fact their bras and underwear are going to be of amazing quality.

I already own a plain black Ultimate Strapless Wonderbra, so I knew how amazing this Versailles Basso & Brooke bra was going to be. The Ultimate Strapless style of Wonderbra is the most amazing strapless bra you will ever get your hands on. It actually stays up and keeps everything in place unlike regular strapless bras! I even put this to the test by dancing, jumping and doing star jumps in it, and it was still in place. The amazing thing about the Ultimate Strapless is that it has unique hand support, it literally feels like you're holding yourself in place, and it looks like there are hands in the cups! The bra fits so well and it barely feels like you're wearing a bra because it's so comfortable.

The 'shortie' underwear that matches the bra is so comfortable and I really think they'd compliment any shape. I love how the front panel matches the front of the bra, and the sides and back are the same mesh material the back of the bra is made out of. The mesh material is also beautifully printed with a Versailles style print, rather than being left plain like on other less luxurious brand’s underwear.

I love this underwear so much that I wish I could wear it over my clothes, it's too pretty to hide away. I'll have to find something to wear that shows the bra off subtly! Until then, I'll just have amazing matching underwear days and know I'm wearing beautiful underwear!

Time Bomb Powerball Intensive Moisturiser

I was recently sent this brand new moisturiser for a blogger meet I organised with Jess and couldn't wait to try it out! I know this is technically an anti-ageing product, but when a moisturiser claims to hydrate my face intensively, well, I just can't pass up that opportunity. The main ingredient is Ectoin, which is a moisture grabbing and holding protein, therefore providing the most intense moisture. The Powerball Intensive Moisturiser claims to keep skin plump, moist and healthy.

I absolutely love the packaging. I love how it's in a ball shape, it makes it seem so much more fun, and definitely more high-end. When I opened the box it came in, it genuinely reminded me a teeny bit of a Pok├ęball, and I instantly thought it was a great idea. I like moisturisers that are in a pot rather than a tube as you can't go too OTT with squeezing too much out.

When I first opened this I was put off by the smell - be aware this is just me, everyone else has said it smells normal/lovely! I decided to go through with the application of it anyway, if the product is good, who cares about the smell?! I used to be a moisturiser hater, and I must say this is the best texture of moisturiser I have ever used. It feels so light when you scoop it out the pot, and when you apply it to your face it does feel extremely hydrating. I usually have a problem with moisturisers making my skin too oily but with this moisturiser I haven't had that problem - it has made my skin feel hydrated but normal! I will continue using this moisturiser until it has completely gone, I can't see me swapping to another moisturiser any time soon. If you're looking for something to hydrate your skin this is definitely the product you need.

P.S. Sorry I can't comment on the anti-ageing aspects of the moisturiser!

Time Bomb Powerball Intensive Moisturiser is available in Selfridges Birmingham and Selfridges London.

Summer in the City 2014

I shall pre-warn you this is a very photo heavy post! I hope you enjoy it! On Friday evening, me and Chloe headed to London ahead of the exciting weekend we were going to have. We bought our Summer in the City tickets last October, and I have been excited ever since that moment.

On Saturday, there was a really long queue to get in, we got there at half 10 and didn't get in until about half 12! We had planned to try and get to Zoe's meet up but by the time we got in she'd already been meeting people for an hour. The first thing I saw when we stepped inside was the PlayStation stand, where they had Little Big Planet 3, DriveClub, SingStar and Just Dance to play. Me and Chloe, both owning a PS4 were eager to have a go on Little Big Planet 3 - so we did just that! After that, we decided to have a walk around the event, as we unfortunately couldn't get tickets to meet Marcus and Alfie. We watched a bit of what was going on on the main stage, we also bumped into Lily, Anna and Chai who were all really lovely and willing to take a photo with us! Lily also complimented my camera - the Canon 600D really is a good camera to say the least. We then went back to the main stage, watched a bit of Emma Blackery's panel, then we noticed the queue for the SacconeJoly's...and immediately got into it. We waited 4 and a half hours to meet them, and finally around half 7 we met Jonathan and Anna. Anna looked absolutely stunning - which I was going to tell her but then when I spoke to both Anna and Jonathan everything I wanted to say just disappeared from my brain! They were the loveliest people, I even gave Anna my blog card and Jonathan joked about how it probably wasn't for boys! The 4 and a half hour wait was worth it, and I definitely wasn't disappointed with meeting them as they were SO nice! We even saw peeks of Emilia and Eduardo through the curtains and they're so cute! Absolutely adorable. I absolutely love the SacconeJoly's daily vlogs and main channel videos, and it's absolutely amazing to have met them, I feel so lucky!

On Sunday, we headed back to Summer in the City but a bit later than when the doors opened. We got absolutely soaked in the rain which wasn't fun! We planned to see the Vlogging and Long Form panels, but as they cleared the room in between we only got to see the Vlogging one, but that was interesting and amazing enough. On the Vlogging panel there was Jonathan, Anna, Louise, Cherry, Ro and David. It was so interesting to listen to everyones different perspectives on Vlogging and learn more about what to do if you want to start. A few things were outlined including how much vlogging improves your confidence, and can also cheer you up on a bad day instead of you sitting and moping around. It's also very very important to just be yourself - as Louise said about if you're putting on an act you won't be able to keep it up! I think this is important too - I hate watching videos where I feel the person is putting it on for the camera. There is no need - just be yourself!

When leaving on Sunday, I caught a glimpse of Liam Dryden thanks to Chloe pointing him out. I was excited because this was the first YouTuber I ever watched - nearly 7 years ago! I would've loved to have gone up and spoken to him but he looked really busy on his walkie-talkie so I thought best not distract him.

I had an absolutely amazing weekend - I'm definitely looking forward to going along to Summer in the City next year. It was so much fun, and I hope the SacconeJoly's go again! It's so interesting to hear about their experiences with daily vlogging and they're such lovely people. It's amazing to be surrounded by so many people that like doing what you like doing - hopefully soon I'll feel confident enough to start my own YouTube channel.

Top 5 IKRUSH Dresses & Exclusive Discount!

L to R: Gisele Grecian Dress
Carla Metal Detailed Halterneck Dress
Charlize Bodycon V-neckline Dress
Valerie Floral Necklace Skater Dress
Tait Houndstooth Shift Dress

I haven't really ever done a post like this so I thought it would be something fun to write! Today I'm bringing to you my top 5 picks of IKRUSH Dresses. I heard of this brand years ago but only recently came across their website, and noticed the amazing clothes they had on offer. I especially love the dresses! They have a range of day dresses, evening dresses and some gorgeous going out dresses. I decided to mix and match with my picks, as that's just the way it went with my favourite dresses on the site. All dresses are fairly versatile and could be worn for both a night out or in the day.

First up I picked the Gisele Grecian Dress because I think it would look gorgeous on the beach, or on holiday on a night out. It looks so feminine and floaty, I'd love to wear it. The Carla Metal Detailed Halterneck Dress I think would be perfect for a night out paired with some beautiful bright or glittery heels. The Charlize Bodycon V-neckline Dress would look great with some red/black accessories and some black platform stilettos! The last two dresses, the Valerie Floral Necklace Skater Dress and Tait Houndstooth Shift Dress I would wear with some chunky cleated heels, boots or sandals. They seem like the perfect dresses to go from day to night as you can just change up your accessories to suit the occasion.

Which is your favourite dress from my top 5?

The bonus to this is that if you love any of these dresses above, or anything on the IKRUSH site, you can use the discount code in the banner below or on the right hand side of my page!

Visiting London!

Last week, me and three of my friends headed to London for a day trip. It was amazing weather, so sunny and hot! Not the ideal situation to be stuck on public transport, but who's going to complain about the sun?! We went to Oxford Street first, I was trying not to spend much money so didn't shop much. I just bought a mini hand fan (that didn't work...) and a Berry Crush from Boost Juice Bar, which was absolutely delicious, but I am such a slow drinker I couldn't finish it. I may have also popped into Kiko and bought one of their eyeshadow sticks, oops!

We then went to Leicester Square. I got on the tube on my own due to it leaving without me, pretty ironic since two minutes later I said 'I would never get the tube alone'. We went into M&M World which I thought was pretty good but overpriced - I paid £4+ for that bag of M&M's above, some people were paying £10+, madness! We also went to a Wetherspoons type place here to chill out of the way of the sun!

We then got on the tube to Westminster. I took a selfie with Big Ben, and the London Eye as you do! Then we walked to St James Park. I got a Flake 99 while we were there, even more delicious as it was so hot and I hadn't had one in years! We walked towards Buckingham Palace (again selfie central) and watched the guards march about.

In the end we headed back to Euston for food before our train came, even though it was delayed a fair bit! We ran onto it when it finally arrived and relaxed on the journey home! Overall I had the most amazing day trip to London, it's really nice to be able to spend some time with your friends doing something!
