July Favourites

I can't believe we are already at the end of July, in just under a month I will be getting my A-Level results back and I'm completely dreading it. Who isn't?! This month has been a 'getting back into make up' month for me, I've brought some old favourites back through reusing them and also found some new favourites!
My all time favourite foundation is still Illamasqua Skin Base, it covers up all imperfections and provides such a flawless finish, alongside covering up my blackheads which are the main reason I wear foundation! It's the perfect colour for me in summer as it just brightens up my skin making it look slightly sunkissed!
A foundation that is my favourite this month also is Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua, a foundation for when I had good skin days. I absolutely love this incredibly light coverage for summer. I hope to have my review on this up soon so you'll be able to hear all about it!
I have found an old favourite in Le Volume De Chanel, this is the best mascara I have ever used, it does exactly what I want to my lashes and think I'll have to put this on my Christmas list for years to come!
The NYX Blush in Pinched just adds the perfect rosy pink to my cheeks which is perfect for summer as it looks so natural. I've been loving using this alone on top of foundation this month just to add something that little bit extra to a plain face!
Lastly, I have found myself popping on Avon Lipstick in Pink Cuddle the majority of make up days this month as it's my perfect nude lip. It is a my lips but better shade, and it's easy to pop on as an everyday shade too.

Fashion Stationery for an Organised Lady

Moleskine Set of Ruled Notebooks, Pink* - £7.99

Anyone that knows me well knows how much I love stationery and can't bear to be disorganised. I probably own 10 notebooks for different things such as holiday lists, birthday present lists, Christmas lists, shopping lists, food lists...the lists really do go on and on. When I was kindly asked to review something from Viking's Fashion Stationery range, these Moleskine notebooks instantly popped out at me. Yes, I do have 10439 notebooks but not pocket ones, not on-the-go ones!

I love the pink colour of both of these and they will be absolutely perfect for blogging on the go. In these notebooks, I can write blog post ideas, when I've scheduled posts for, and all the things that you need to consider for a post! I like that there's a set, which means if I fill one up there will be another to go on to, or if I actually start making YouTube videos I can use one for blogging, and one for YouTube.

I don't know about everyone else but when it comes to blog posts, I write down all the days I'd like to post, then I choose what to post about. Then I write any notes to put into the post below and tick if I've written it! This will enable me to carry one of these around with me so I can see when I have a post going up, and what I've already written about (so I don't write about it again). The Moleskine notebooks are also very well made, so I won't have to worry about the cover falling off in my very full handbag. I look forward to putting these to good use!

David Swimwear

David Swimwear Bikini*

I was recently sent this gorgeous bikini, and I just had to review it as I loved it so much. This bikini is from David Swimwear, an amazing swim brand to suit all. David Swim has three groups, the first being David Fashion - a young, dynamic range. Then there is David Iconique - a range of cover ups and kaftans to wear with the swimwear or as accessories on the beach. Finally, David Solutions - a shaping selection with tummy control, which is new for this year and designed to look the same as the non-control collection whilst using special fabrics to suit different shapes!

I love the bikini top as you can wear it with the straps or without, so if you're sunbathing on holiday you won't get strap marks as you can just detach them! I also love that it's padded slightly so you don't get any of those awkward moments when you're feeling a bit chilly...if you get what I mean! The embellishments also add a subtle bit of detail to the bikini, I love them!
The bikini bottoms are extremely comfortable and feel like they're made of a luxurious fabric when you're wearing them.

This is by far the most luxurious bikini I have ever owned. I really suggest if you're looking for a bikini for your summer holidays to check out David Swimwear. From three different ranges they'll be something for nearly everybody.

This set was especially sent to me for review and is no longer available. However, the latest styles and designs from David Swimwear are available from Mio Destino and UK Beachwear.

The Glamour Beauty Edit

The Glamour Beauty Edit boxes are the only beauty boxes I think I would ever buy...and that is because they don't require commitment, and they certainly never disappoint. My boyfriend actually bought me this box and I'm ever so grateful! This season's box is worth over £86, but costs only £16.95. I was pleased to see in this box that there are only two sample sizes/smaller sizes, and the other seven items were full-sized! What made me decide to get the box was the Illamasqua lipstick, which alone would cost more than this whole box. Now, onto the contents of the box!

Illamasqua Glamore Lipstick -  I got this in the shade Starkers, and I won't say too much about it because I want to review it soon! It's a lovely pinky nude with a satin finish. I personally think this is the highlight of the box...but I may be biased, as I love Illamasqua!

Magnifibres Brush-on False Lashes - I've heard of this before and it is meant to be amazing. I can't wait to try it to see what it does to my lashes!

Rimmel Sunshimmer Instant Tan BB Skin Perfector - I haven't seen anything about these tans really, but I'm excited to try it. My friend uses another one of Rimmel's Instant Tans sometimes and that looks good so I'm hoping this will too!

Velvotan Tanning Mitt - I already own the exact same tanning mitt in the same colour. Needless to say, it is SO good. It applies tan so well, and I'll be happy to use this when mine is eventually overused and in need of replacement.

Hawaiian Tropic Sun Lotion SPF30 (100ml) - This is a travel size product, which will be perfect to take on holiday with me at the end of August. It claims to be non-greasy and leave your skin feeling soft, which is great for me as I hate the feel of some sun lotions.

DHC Deep Cleansing Oil (30ml) - This is the other travel/sample sized product. I've never used an oil cleanser but I can't see me getting on with this as I hate the feel of oily stuff - I'll try it but if I don't like it I'm sure my Mom would be happy to use it!

Toni & Guy Volume Plumping Whip - I love volumising products, my hair is so flat, and if this works I will definitely be reviewing it so keep a look out for that!

Crabtree & Evelyn Nail Lacquer - I'm obsessed with nail varnish and I don't think I have one in this shade of pink, it'll be lovely for summer.

Bourjois Cream Blush - I will definitely be reviewing this, I only own one other Bourjois product and have heard a lot about these cream blushes. I can't wait to use it in a make-up look.

I am thoroughly impressed with this Glamour Beauty Edit, I'll definitely be keeping my eyes out for another. Keep a look out for my reviews of the products inside!

On Saturday 19th July, me and Jess hosted a blogger meet up in Birmingham. We had planned it for ages and were so excited for it to happen! All of us girls met up outside the Bullring - it was raining horribly which I thought would put a bit of a downer on the day, which it didn't and I was so glad! This was quite a bit smaller than the first meet up I attended so I felt it was easier to get to know people. Thanks to everyone that came. I hope you enjoyed your day, I really enjoyed mine! It was lovely to meet everyone! Every single person that came was so lovely, and everyone got along really well.

We split into two groups to go shopping to make it a bit easier, and we all met up at Lush where we had a demonstration of the 'Granny Takes a Dip' bath bomb - it looks amazing in the water. The woman at Lush described it as a Supernova! Afterwards, some of us went to The Body Shop and Boots to have a look around.

We then went down to Pizza Hut, where me and Jess laid the goody bags out on everyone's seats.Everyone came in, we chatted, enjoyed some Boomf marshmallows then ordered our food and drink, fizzy drinks with a shot of flavour, the part that everyone seemed to love! I kept refilling my glass with Vanilla Pepsi Max...yum! For my meal I had Chicken Bites and Garlic Bread, so the photo of pizza is actually Chloe's pizza! Afterwards, everyone was stuffed we decided to pass on dessert and just carried on chatting away and getting to know each other. Yipsy Macarons also bought some macaroons along, which must have been a hit as they were all polished off, along with the marshmallows after we'd eaten our meal.

Becky also did a talk about her company, Harlequin Cosmetics, and we got to smell the products - my favourite was the Dolly Pink shower gel! She bought some sample sizes for everyone to buy and I bought the hand cream, which smells AMAZING and I can't wait to use it.

This is an example of our goody bags, which I am so grateful for all the companies involved for providing! The tote bags were provided by Lipcote and The Blogger Programme (who printed our hashtag on especially). Our goody bags in the end were worth over a huge £200 - totally unexpected, I was ever so pleased with them.

Attending a Ball with Fanny Crown!

Dress - Shoes - Bag - EarringsNecklace - Lipstick - Lashes

Recently, Amy from Fanny Crown contacted me asking me if I'd like to take part in a blogger contest and of course I said yes, I love styling outfits. Especially when there is a beautiful dress involved! I chose this gorgeous Ruby dress above, I absolutely love the colour, the neckline and the beautiful empire waist with crystal detailing. I think this evening dress would be perfect for attending a Ball in, and that's where I would wear it, so I have chosen that as my theme! I chose to pair the beautiful dress with a pair of classic black court shoes from New Look, as the dress is floor length you won't be able to see them much but they will add a bit of height and glamour to the ball gown. I chose the Moschino bag to hold the little items you'd need to take to a ball with you, while matching the colour and detailing of the dress. I would also wear this with a statement necklace and earrings, as it balances the dress out more, especially if you were wearing an up-do! With the V-Neck neckline it's also nice to add something to your bare décolletage! I would choose to wear simple make up but with a classic red lip, in the form of MAC's Russian Red (my personal favourite red!) and some Ardell Demi Wispies, which are absolutely beautiful lashes! I chose simple make up because I didn't want to draw attention away from this ever so stunning dress.

Eucerin Skincare

Over a month ago, Escentual kindly sent me a fair few Eucerin products to try out. The three full size products are the ones I've photographed above. I tend to test out skincare for around a month so I can see how it copes with my hormonal skin.
First of all, the Dermo Puryfier Cleanser. It claims to eliminate excess sebum and remove dirt/make up. It does live up to it's claims - it is the best blemish/acne targeted cleanser I have used. I still got breakouts around that time of the month as everyone does but it disappointed me that this cleanser didn't stop them, like Liz Earle's Cleanse and Polish does. However, it does provide a good cleanse and is quick and easy to use. It does seem to cancel out excess sebum and certainly removes make up! For my evening skincare routine I've been using this in the shower, while I wait to rinse my conditioner off. It feels a bit like Clinique's Liquid Facial Soap, and I love that you just lather it up and rinse it off, job done!
The Even Brighter Day Cream is my favourite of the three products I was sent, I've nearly used up the whole pot. It doesn't leave my skin greasy or oily and it helps make up glide on. Since using this I've had no dry patches on my face which is amazing. I have actually nearly used this all up, I am scraping it from the edges of the pot! No moisturiser has ever suited my skin so well.
The Even Brighter Night Cream leaves my skin feeling so soft and smooth when I wake up in the morning, and doesn't leave my nose greasy like some night creams do. This reminded me of the classic Nivea Creme a fair bit, it was a less thick consistency but I feel it did the same job to my skin.
Overall, I believe Eucerin's skincare claims are very truthful, I'd certainly try more from their ranges as I'm rather impressed with these three products!

Day to Night Cruise Fashion - Virgin Holidays Competition

Day to Night Cruise

Topshop Shift Dress - £45

New Look Sandals - £17.99
ASOS Shoulder Bag - £25
ASOS Sunglasses - £10
Revlon Matte Balm in Striking - £7.99

New Look Platform Sandals  - £22.99
ASOS Clutch Bag - £15
River Island Necklace - £15
NARS Lipstick in Jungle Red - £19.50

I was recently asked if I wanted to participate in the Virgin Cruise Holidays competition, to create the perfect day to night cruise holiday look. Of course I jumped at the chance, I love creating looks - especially when it's for a holiday. I chose the Topshop Shift Dress as I thought it would be perfect for both day and night, it can be dressed up or down.

For the day, I chose to style the dress with New Look White Sandals, as in the day on a cruise ship you wouldn't want to look too formal, and you'd want to be able to walk around comfortably. I also chose the ASOS Ombre Sunglasses as an accessory because who doesn't need sunglasses when they're on holiday?! I also chose the lovely pink ASOS Shoulder Bag as if you're on a cruise, you'd never be that far from your room so you'd only need a small bag to carry your essentials around. Finally for the day I chose Revlon Matte Balm in Striking, I think it goes with the colour of the dress so well, and it won't dry out your lips throughout the day!

For the night, I chose New Look White Platform Sandals because it's lovely to dress up in the evening, to go for dinner or head to a bar. I chose the statement River Island Necklace to add more character to the dress, and to of course make a statement. I decided to style the dress with an ASOS Clutch Bag for the evening, as you'd probably need even less than you do in the day, it will fit everything in and dress the outfit up! Finally for the night I chose NARS Lipstick in Jungle Red to make the outfit more dramatic and to dress up the look. It's the perfect red for the dress and accessories!

You can vote for my entry at the Virgin Cruises Competition Page under the name Katrina Keatley, let me know in the comments if you've voted for me!

20 Years of Wonderbra!

Wonderbra is one of the most iconic brands of the 21st Century and certainly the last two decades. Wonderbra's 'Hello Boys' advert in 1994 was voted the most iconic of all time, and they didn't stop there! Each new bra Wonderbra have brought out, they have had an amazing advertising campaign to go alongside it. In 2006, the Multiway bra was launched with 100 women modelling the bra 100 different ways. 2008 D to G range, 8,000 women's cleavage was put onto a billboard, making up one of the images above. In 2009, the Ultimate Strapless bra was launched. I can personally vouch that this one is amazing, as I bought one last year. It is the only strapless bra I've ever owned that actually keeps everything in place and upheld! For my 18th through a night of dancing it worked amazingly, it has 'hands' in to keep you in place - they really work! In 2010 The Full Effect was launched with a 3D billboard. I think I remember seeing this one! This advertisement seems to show exactly what the bra does! In 2011 to launch the Ultimate Plunge,  there was a bungee jump. This year, to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of Wonderbra, they released their first designer collaboration with Basso & Brooke, all pieces are absolutely beautiful! I think Wonderbra is a completely innovative brand, and a household name (even amongst men!). I knew of Wonderbra before I even bought my first one! I can't describe how much I rate this brand - if I had unlimited money all of my underwear would be Wonderbra, it truly is amazing and the quality is perfect. They have underwear to suit everyone, so no wonder the brand has been so successful this past 20 years. Happy 20th Anniversary Wonderbra!

A Healthier Life

A few months ago, I was contacted to see if I'd like to take a trip to the Birmingham Botanical Gardens* in order to promote healthy ageing. It is important to promote a healthy lifestyle in over 45s, as diseases can be easily developed if you don't live a healthy lifestyle! It is essential that your parents (if they're over 45) and grandparents lead a healthy lifestyle, and this includes participating in leisure activities. As my Mom works a 9-5 job at a desk in the week, it was good for us to get out! It didn't take long for us to get there which is always a bonus. We went there on a Sunday, so there was a band on which was lovely to watch and listen to. We had a walk around the whole of the gardens, well, in the middle of that it started raining, so we stopped off at the Café. The Café served Costa as well as the usual café type food and hot food (but only until 2pm). After the rain stopped, it was lovely and sunny so we carried on our walk, there are some beautiful flowers around the gardens, and it's the perfect place for a family day out and maybe even a picnic! If you have never been to the Botanical Gardens, it's a cheap day out and there is so much to see. Any parents/grandparents who love plants and flowers will absolutely love a day out to the Botanical Gardens, and it's so important to get them up and active so they can lead their healthy lifestyle!

June Favourites

Throughout June, I didn't really wear make up much as I was more focused on revising for exams and doing my exams! Therefore, I don't really have many make up favourites this month. My first favourite in June was the 2nd Step in the Clinique 3-Step. I think this makes my skin feel amazing, it exfoliates and leaves my face feeling fresh. My next favourite in June was Tanya Burr Lipgloss in Champagne Toast, which just added that little bit extra to my make up free face. My other skincare favourite in June was the Liz Earle Brightening Treatment Mask, which literally saved my skin from a breakout instantly and I think I'll have to review it soon! Last, but not least, an unrelated favourite but something that has been my favourite throughout June, the SacconeJoly's channel. I love watching their daily vlogs, their little family is lovely and the vlogs make my day! I love getting meal ideas from Anna too.
