March Favourites!

March hasn't been a very exciting month for the most part. I've had many coursework deadlines, which my laptop decided to break in between, and even though it was taken for repair they were unable to fix it. Boo! However towards the end of the month I did go to see Russell Howard, which was hilarious!

The biggest favourite of the month is MAC Russian Red, the most gorgeous red lipstick I have ever used. I've already reviewed this, as I love it so much.
The AVON Planet Spa Mediterranean Olive Oil Hair Mask is an amazing hair mask, which is so simple and quick to use - leave it on 10 minutes, rinse it off and you're left with gorgeous silky hair.
Benefit Stay Don't Stray has been an absolute saviour for me this month, and I certainly notice a huge difference when I have this on, one day I didn't wear it and I thought I'd forgotten to put my concealer and eyeshadow on!
The last things I've been loving this month are non-beauty related. The first is Dairy Milk Ritz. Just before I'd seen these advertised my boyfriend was eating ritz crackers and I was eating chocolate and he mentioned that they'd go quite nicely together. I remember saying ugh that's absolutely disgusting! However - I now love these so, yes, it was an amazing idea! I have also been loving Paloma Faith's new album that came out earlier this month, it has some amazing songs on and you should all have a listen!

What have you been loving this month?

Inspired by Mum

For Mother's Day, I was challenged by House of Fraser to create a look inspired by my Mom. I chose a beauty look - in this look my Mom only has subtle make up but I thought it would be a pretty spring look. I applied Illamasqua Skin Base as my foundation and I went for lighter green eyeshadow, with darker eyeshadow in the crease. I also applied L'Oréal Color Riche Collection Privée in Barely Golden by Eva Longoria. However, I feel that MAC Crosswires Lipstick would actually complete the look perfectly.

Mum's The Word!

Crop Top - New Look (No Longer Available)
Skater Skirt - H&M
High Vamp Skaters - Topshop

When I heard about Beyond Retro's Mum's the Word collaboration, I was excited to begin digging out the old photos of my Mom, and trying to create a modern take on her outfit. I opted for a tie up crop, with a skater skirt and some skater shoes. I really enjoyed recreating a modern take on one of my Mom's outfits from 30 years ago, and she was excited to help me pick out clothes to try and recreate it!

Moroccan Oil Treatment

I absolutely love finding a hair product that helps the condition of my hair to improve, so when I was at the hair salon a while back, I picked up the Moroccan Oil Treatment. It was originally used on my hair by my hairdresser last year, and my hair felt so silky soft I had to ask what she'd used. The price initially shocked me (before I blogged!) so I didn't buy any - however this product is definitely worth the price you pay. I have been using this for just over a month, and before I'd started using it my hair was awfully dry! Now my hair feels soft and silky, the treatment is obviously working it's magic as it's the only product I have changed in my haircare routine in the past few months. I am amazed that just one product can improve your hair greatly. If you are considering buying Moroccan Oil Treatment to help your dry ends, order it. You will be amazed. I absolutely love what this product does to my hair, next time I will definitely repurchase the larger size as I know I love it!

Russell Howard Wonderbox Tour

Hello everyone! Last night, me, Ryan (my boyfriend) and my friend Katy went to Russell Howard's Wonderbox Tour in Birmingham at the LG Arena. I booked the tickets last year, and have been excited ever since they were first booked.

Image from The LG Arena

We started out by heading to Nando's in the Bullring. There was a very long wait for the table and I was completely stressing about the time! We ordered then waited for our food, and it arrived about 10 minutes before we had to leave. I've never eaten Nando's so quickly in my life! Butterfly Chicken and Chips...mmm!

We then practically ran through the Bullring to New Street Station to get the train, we got to the platform just as it arrived and hopped on finally feeling relaxed about possibly getting there in time. When we got off the train, it was like a huge rush to get in the arena but after having unlimited drinks in Nando's we were all desperate for the toilet so we HAD to go before we found our seats! We were all amazed we were sat in our seats before Russell Howard came on, and could finally breathe easy and have a laugh.

Russell Howard was absolutely hilarious, the whole show he'd put together made our jaws and stomachs ache from laughing. You can tell from his shows that he is a genuinely nice guy, especially in the encore where someone asked if he could ring their sister-in-law, which he did while on stage, unfortunately she didn't pick up but she was left a lovely voicemail! At the end, he spoke of an inspirational story about a boy he knew who had cancer - and brought him out on the stage. Everyone began clapping and stood up for him, it was absolutely amazing.

Overall we had a great night, and we're still laughing at the jokes made yesterday! I would completely recommend seeing his stand up, so whenever he next tours or if you are due to see him, you are in for a treat.

OOTN: Out With The Girls

Hello everyone! I went out last night to Gatecrasher Birmingham for my friend's 18th birthday, I decided to go for a smart casual look as it was a Thursday night and I didn't really have much else to wear! I opted for a nude nail, as I hadn't decided what I was wearing earlier on in the day. I also think disco pants are the perfect wardrobe essential, I can't believe I only bought some at the beginning of this year. Please excuse my dodgy pose - these were such quick pictures as we had to leave to get in the taxi shortly after!

Foundation - Illamasqua Skin Base SB04

Review: Soap & Glory The Ultimelt

Hello everyone! For those of you that may have been reading my blog for a while, you will know that I absolutely love Soap & Glory body products! Just before Christmas, I decided to give Soap & Glory skincare a go. It is needless to say I was quite impressed!

The Ultimelt is a hot cloth cleanser, and it comes with a muslin cloth. I decided to try this after I'd heard many YouTubers raving about it. The packaging is a metal tube, and started to look a bit crumpled after a few uses. I used about a £2 coin size blob of this, applied all over my face, then left it on for about 5 minutes while brushing my teeth, then washed off with the muslin cloth.

This lasted me just over a month, and in that month I only broke out once - which I think is really good considering I used to break out quite a few times in a month! To me this was perfect - the only slight problem I had with it was the smell, but I got past that eventually.

You can buy The Ultimelt here for £10, it isn't in stock very often so I'd suggest to keep checking! Have you tried this? What did you think of it?

Review: Revlon PhotoReady Foundation

Hello everyone! One of my friends bought me this Revlon Photoready Foundation for Christmas, and I have used it a fair bit since so thought I'd review it. I have it in Vanilla, which I'd say is actually the perfect shade for me.

In the bottle, it looks quite shimmery, but when you apply it to the face it doesn't show up, instead you get a lovely natural finish. I find that I only need one pump for my whole face. I'd say this is a sheer finish, it didn't cover up redness on my face like other foundations do. It also clings quite a bit to dry patches, which I wasn't impressed with as I've recently been getting more dry patches on my face. The staying power was also quite short, as I wore it for about 5 hours and had lost all trace of foundation on my face (except the clinging to dry patches).

Overall I'd say I'm not completely impressed with this foundation, although it is good on days I don't need much coverage. Let me know in the comments below if you've tried this and what you thought!

Birmingham Blogger Meet Up 2014

Hello everyone! On Saturday I went into town to attend the Birmingham Blogger Meet Up which was organised by the lovely Jess from Dungarees and Donuts and co-hosted by Char from Charlotte Writes, thank you both very much! This is quite a long post, so I've put in a page break!

Real Techniques Silicone Liner Brush

Hello everyone! Recently I was watching one of Pixiwoo's videos and saw they were using their new silicone liner brush. As soon as the video finished, I was on Amazon looking to buy it! I thought it was an amazing idea - and thought it'd make eyeliner application so much easier for a novice like me.

Deichmann Caroline Blomst Collab SS14

This collab comes from Caroline Blomst, a fellow blogger, and Deichmann, creating a gorgeous high street collection for us to feast our eyes upon! All shoes are designed with style and comfort in mind. The collection consists of two pairs of flat shoes, and five pairs of more classic heels. The price of the collection ranges from £17.99 to £27.99, which is extremely affordable for a beautiful pair of shoes.

Graphic Print Smoking Slipper, £17.99
I love the print on these shoes, and I am a huge fan of smoking slippers, as they are so comfortable! I would pair these shoes with some jeans, or a playsuit for a casual yet stylish look.

Pixel Print Sneaker, £22.99
Now, being completely honest I don't normally think of wearing any shoes like this! However I love the print on these shoes and think they look so comfortable. I would probably wear these with a pair of jeans if I was having a lazy day walking around shops in town.

Pointed T-Bar Heel with Gold Stud Detail, £24.99
I love the gold studs on these heels, and that they're not too high! Us girls will admit that sometimes we'd like a bit of a smaller heel, for more comfort. These shoes would be perfect for when you want to make a bit of an effort and not wear flats, and would go perfect with a tea dress or shift dress.

Pointed Multi-Strap Gothic Style Heel, £24.99
These gothic heels are absolutely gorgeous! With the multi straps, you would get comfort and support in the shoe. These would be perfect paired with a dress for a night out on the town with the girls!

Peep Toe Lace Shoe Boot with Ankle Strap, £27.99
These are absolutely gorgeous shoe boots, I love the lace detail. They would be perfect with any type of dress as they are so versatile and classic! They also have the support of the ankle strap, therefore keeping your feet comfortable.

Peep Toe Shoe Boot with Cut-Out Detail, £27.99
These are perfectly classic shoe boots, which you could wear with anything from jeans to a jumpsuit. The cut-out detail adds that extra edge against other shoe boots. The peep toe is also a nice way to show off your beautiful pedi while having the rest of your feet covered!

Peep Toe with Drop Side and Metallic Heel, £27.99
These are my personal favourite within the whole collection. I love the drop side of the shoes, and for a pair of quite tall heels they are so comfortable, you can barely feel that you are wearing heels! I love the metallic heel which adds a contrast to the rest of the shoe. These would be absolutely perfect for a night out or a party, with any type of dress, playsuit or jumpsuit.

The shoes are available from here now! An absolutely beautiful collection. Be quick snapping them up, I think they'll be so popular! I'll certainly be buying a pair of the Peep Toe Drop Side shoes!

Girls Night Out OOTN

Hello everyone! So on Friday night, me and a few of my friends went to Leicester for a night out. I got a few pictures on my phone of what I wore, please excuse the hotels awful lighting and my bad phone photo quality! Ooh, and cringey mirror snaps...

I opted for a smart casual look as I really wanted some disco pants and this was an excuse to wear them! We went to XY bar in Leicester which had good music, ranging from new music to old music that reminded me of my 12 year old school days. Afterwards we came back to Travelodge Leicester, which I am absolutely appalled with and writing a huge complaint letter to the head office, NEVER stay there. Lets just say I'm glad I didn't wear heels as we spent the middle of the night walking to the train station and sitting outside in the freezing cold. We had fun regardless and I hope my friend had a great birthday outing!
