What I Got For My 18th Birthday!

Hello everyone!
I promise you these birthday posts will soon be done with...this is the last one! It's been an amazing birthday so I'm trying to keep it going as long as I can!
As I had a party - I had more presents than I usually would! This birthday I asked most people for money as I was saving for an iPad.
I've put a page break in this because it is SO picture heavy!

My 18th Week, OOTN & FOTN!

Hello everyone! So...I missed two posts last week. Oops! I feel so bad about this but it was my 18th birthday week and I was majorly busy having fun! On Tuesday last week it was my 18th Birthday, and I went for a pub meal with my boyfriend. On Wednesday, I went shopping for jewellery and make up to go with my party dress. I bought MAC Russian Red, which I will be uploading a review of soon! On Thursday, this was the only day I had to relax and do nothing. On Friday, I went to the Toby Carvery with my friends and had such delicious food, I want to go again! Then on Saturday, after a sleepless night feeling ill, it was my party!

My dress is from Lipsy, which I bought on sale last year, so unfortunately is now unavailable. My necklace is from Forever 21 and so are my earrings (which you can't see in the picture). I can't find the link to them online! My bracelets are from Links of London & Jac Vanek. My watch is from Next. Which I also can't find the link to. I unfortunately didn't have a full picture of my outfit, so my shoes aren't pictured. Boo! But they're J by Jasper Conran.

I did my usual make-up routine with an added extra. I started off with MAC Prep & Prime Skin Base, then used Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer. Then I used Illamasqua Skin Base which is my favourite foundation ever! I used Benefit Hoola Bronzer to contour and Illamasqua Blush in Naked Rose. On my eyebrows I used the HD Brows Palette in Foxy. For my eyes I used Urban Decay Primer Potion in Greed, MAC Retrospeck & MAC Woodwinked, I used Le Volume De Chanel Mascara. I then finished off the look with MAC Russian Red!

Overall, I loved my birthday week! There should be another post on Wednesday about everything I got for my birthday.

My 18th Birthday!

Hello everyone! Yesterday I celebrated my 18th birthday, and it was one of the best birthday's I've ever had. I spent the day with my boyfriend, we went out for a meal and had the best day! I absolutely loved it!

This is a picture heavy and text light post!

Disclaimer - I am not trying to show off by showing my presents I received, and I am extremely grateful for all of my presents.

The first presents I received were off some of my friends. We are doing hampers for each other for our 18th birthdays where we all put £10 in!

Healthy Haircare!

Hello everyone! I like to try and keep my hair super healthy, and because my hair is so long it's so hard to keep it soft and healthy! I'd like to share some products and tips for keeping hair healthy.

Just over a month ago, I had ombré put in my hair. My ombré isn't 'dramatic', as I told my hairdresser I wanted it as natural as possible, and she did a perfect job. However, after I washed it at home, my hair didn't feel soft any more and it looked as if my ombré had already faded!

But then I found..the beauty of L'Oréal Elvive Nourish & Shimmer Highlights Shampoo and Conditioner! Instantly, the Shampoo softened my hair and brightened the ombré and I fell in love. Then I went out and bought the conditioner to go along with it. Naughty. I have to say, every time I've used L'Oréal Shampoos and Conditioners they have kept my hair in such amazing condition, I don't know why I don't always use them!

To keep my hair healthy, I wash my hair every other day, because I find washing it every day is just too much and it takes away natural oils. Whilst washing my hair I always make sure to properly massage my scalp when I'm shampooing it, then when I've rinsed my shampoo I apply conditioner. I only put this on the middle to the ends of my hair, and leave it on for about 5 minutes. This makes my hair so soft and so much easier to brush! Then I use Avon's Moroccan Argan Oil Mask, which I also leave on for 5 minutes. I love how this makes my hair feel - it certainly does nourish my hair!

Before drying my hair, I use a heat protector spray, comb this through and put Moroccan Oil on the ends of my hair. I dry my hair upside down, completely, head hanging. Some may find this strange - but it does an amazing job for volume! I recently began to only dry the top of my hair and not the ends - it feels so much softer by letting the ends dry naturally!

How do you keep your hair healthy? Have you tried any of the products above?

Gwen Stefani O.P.I. Collection

Hello everyone! I heard about Gwen Stefani's collection for O.P.I. back in October, when my friend posted a link on my Facebook wall. I was so excited, and couldn't believe it when I saw tweets saying it was being shown exclusively on QVC earlier this week. I tuned in just to see the beautiful colours and how much the collection would be. Little did I know that my Mom had actually ordered me the collection for my birthday, and gave it to me early.

Illamasqua Powder Blush in Naked Rose

Hello everyone! As I mentioned in a recent post about the Illamasqua Skin Base Foundation, I visited the Illamasqua counter in Selfridges in the Bullring, Birmingham. When I was colour matched, the lady also put this gorgeous blusher on me and I made an impulse purchase. Oops!

I love all of the Illamasqua packaging as it looks quite different to many other brands. I love that you can see which colour it is just by looking and not having to open it, and that makes my decision easier of what blush to wear! (Also if I bought more Illamasqua Blush I would know which shade was which without having to root through them all).

I know some of you may think 'What a messy blush' - It's well loved!

The colour of the blush is a very natural shade of pink, and applies perfectly onto my face with help from the Real Techniques Blush Brush. A little goes a long way - I only swipe my brush across this once and have enough product to apply to my face! I feel that this blush is perfect for everyday wear.

As you can see in the above swatch, this just adds a little extra to my everyday make up look without anything too dramatic! I find it lasts about 6-8 hours before it needs topping up, which is amazing as I'm rarely out for longer than 8 hours so it means I don't have to carry it around. Overall, I absolutely love this blush and this is my favourite I have found so far.

Have you tried Illamasqua blush? What did you think?

Illamasqua Skin Base Foundation

Hello everyone! Last month whilst I was Christmas Shopping in the Bullring in town (Birmingham), I chose to go and get colour matched at Illamasqua in Selfridges for the Skin Base Foundation, as I had heard so many good reviews about it.

I'm extremely sorry that this is the only picture I have and it's not amazing - it's hard to get good lighting at all in my house at any time of year, especially winter!

Revlon PhotoReady Perfecting Primer

Hello everyone! I know what you're thinking, even though we all need primer, it's not a very enthralling subject and I'm aware there isn't much to say about it! However, I thought I'd be helpful and review this one for you all.

Debenhams Winter Style Challenge

Look One - Winter Warmer
I decided for a casual winter look it would be nice to pair a wintery jumper with some dark blue jeans, and a warm khaki parka. I also paired this with tan ankle boots and a tote bag for a smart casual vibe. Then I added a pom pom scarf, as that is very warming in winter! I then added a gorgeous pale pink lipstick to complete the look.

Parka - £85 | Jumper - £20 | Skinny Jeans - £16 | Leather Mid Chelsea Boots - £45.50 | Tote Bag - £27.50 | Scarf - £20 | YSL Lipstick Pink in Paris - £24
Total - £238

Look Two - Ultimate Party Look
I chose a gorgeous berry skater style dress, paired with a studded coat for an edgy look. I chose black patent court shoes to go with these, to make the look more feminine. I chose the necklace and earrings to go with the edgy look, then the pretty bow clutch and watch again, add a touch of femininity. I then chose makeup to be done with MAC's Russian Red as this is perfect for a night out, and also Urban Decay's Naked 3 Palette as it is new this winter and has the PERFECT party colours!

Dress - £40 | Jacket - £32 | Shoes - £33.75 | Clutch - £16.50 | Necklace and Earrings - £7.50 | Watch - £64 | MAC Lipstick Russian Red - £15 | Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette - £37
Total - £245.75

2013 Empties

Hello everyone! This post is full of empties I collected from when I started my blog 5 months ago, so I could make a bigger collective 2013 empties post! There are no make-up empties I'm afraid!

Can you tell I'm a bit of a Herbal Essences addict?! I bought the Bee Strong Shampoo and Conditioner when they first came out, as my hair was in need of some serious TLC! I used this up in no time, and it made my hair so soft! The Fresh Balance Shampoo didn't really change my hair at all, it just kept it clean. I also used the Tousle Me Softly Shampoo which left my natural waves more defined, and made me more happy to not use heat on my hair.

Next, onto the skincare. I used up a full bottle of the L'Oreal 3-in-1 Micellar Water, which has replaced wipes in my make-up removal, and I thought I'd never see the day! I have already repurchased this! I also used up two or three Good Things Stay Clear Cleanser's, because they are literally amazing and do exactly what it says on the tube. I have repurchased this loads! I also used up a Good Things Face the Day Moisturiser (before this I never really used moisturiser) I think this is amazing, I'd love to try different ones though! I have repurchased this. The last thing I used up in skincare was Lush's Tea Tree Toner Water. I absolutely love this, but so far I haven't repurchased it! I need to, soon!

The last category of empties is body empties! I firstly used up a Lush Dream Cream tub, this is amazing for dry skin and sensitive skin, and is even perfect if you have scalp dermatitis, as it is so non greasy -  you can use it anywhere and just feel soft instead of sticky! I would definitely repurchase this. Another product I used up was a mini tub of The Righteous Butter. Before using this I wasn't sold on body butters and was too lazy to use them, then I fell in love with this. I can't even explain how much I love it, I now have it in a bigger size. I also used up a Nivea In-Shower Body Moisturiser which was so good and made my skin rather soft - however it didn't seem to last very long! I may repurchase this, but only if it was on offer because it really didn't last long! Next time, I may also buy the dry skin version. The last product I used up was The Body Shop Cranberry Shower Gel. I am a huge fan of the Body Shop shower gels and rarely use anything else, and when I smelt the cranberry scent I had to use this. I loved it so much, and I'm so excited to buy it next year when it's back in store!

Have you used any of these products? What did you think of them?
